Pro Belvedere’s organizers are getting down to work on the next edition of the U23 international classic race to be held on April 2nd, 2018 in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy)

The Giro del Belvedere will soon celebrate another anniversary of its history hosting the 80th edition of the U23 international race, on Monday April 2nd, in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy).

The Italian classic race has always been the perfect springboard for the best cycling prospects and the 2017 edition was no exception: 6 riders of the top-10 are facing their debut in the pro’ category, starting by the winner Aleksandr Riabushenko (joining the UAE-Team Emirates), the runner-up Lucas Hamilton (Orica-Scott) and third-placed Matteo Fabbro (Team Katusha-Alpecin). Again: Daniel Savini (fourth) joined Bardiani-CSF, Neilson Powless (sixth) the Team Lotto NL-Jumbo and Michael Storer (eighth) the Team Sunweb.

With last April’s success, dressing the European Champion jersey, the 22-year-old Belarussian Aleksandr Riabushenko further enriched the race’s prestigious list of honours, including top-riders such as Maurizio Fondriest, Silvio Martinello, Ivan Gotti, Sacha Modolo and Stefan Kueng.

For the second consecutive year, a non-italian rider celebrates at the Giro del Belvedere, whose resounding success and massive prestige have been confirmed by the huge crowd surrounding the race. From the Swiss National Champion’s jersey, worn by Patrick Muller last year, to the European Champion’s jersey of Belarussian Alexandr Riabushenko, winner of the 79th “Easter Monday Classic” with a powerful sprint on the slightly sloping finish in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy).

Behind Team Palazzago’s 21-year-old rider another of the big favourites, Lucas Hamilton (Australia National Team), second on the finish line. It’s official: Patrick Muller will take part in the 79th Giro del Belvedere on Monday April 19th in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy), with the goal of achieving his second win in a row. In over 90 years of history, nobody has ever claimed consecutive wins at the U23 Easter Monday international classic.

After the powerful sprint of the 2016 edition at the end of a perfect race, BMC Development Team’s 20-year-old rider will try to give Switzerland the third win in the last 5 editions: the Swiss escalation had started in the 2013 season with Stefan Kueng’s win. The 2015 Individual Pursuit World Champion went on to become one of the best TT specialists around.

The renewed version of U23 Easter Monday classic’s website is online. Media accreditation procedures for the international event of April 17th are now open

90 years of history but forever young: the Giro del Belvedere refreshes its look for the 79th edition with the launch of the new website. The goal of the Pro Belvedere organizers was to make it easier for the visitors to browse through all the contents and information on the event taking place on Monday April 17th in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy), with the best cycling prospects in the World at the start.

Home and in-read pages have been developed with “responsive” technology, to make the contents fully readable and enjoyable also through smartphone and tablet. There are two language options for the whole navigation – English and Italian – whilst the race information will also be uploaded in French.

The restyling of www.girodelbelvedere.it represents another step forward for the Easter Monday Classic, once again promising an exciting challenge between International prospects such as Adrien Costa and Junior World Champion Jakob Egholm.

The 79th edition of the U23 Easter Monday classic confirms its international status: the official teams list features 22 foreign outfits, with Californian sensation Adrien Costa expected at the start

Giro del Belvedere rides at full speed toward the “big day”, Monday April 17th. The U23 Easter Monday Classic confirms its international prestige in view of the 79th edition, as it lookes forward to welcome the best cycling prospects in the World.

As in the 2016 edition won by Swiss Patrick Muller, 40 teams have been announced at the start in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy), including 22 non-Italian outfits.

Axeon-Hagens Berman, BMC Development and Mitchelton Scott lead the international charge, whilst 18 Italian teams will try to get the upper hand on foreign opponents.

Montaner and Via delle Longhe climbs remain the key-points of the international one-day race 79th edition in Villa di Cordignano, next April 17th. BMC, Axeon, Dimension Data and Lotto Soudal at the start

79th Giro del Belvedere, the U23 international race scheduled on Monday April 17th in Villa di Cordignano (Northern Italy), will take place on the same route as last year.

The first part of the event unfolds along a 12-Km circuit to be repeated 11 times, including the Conche hill (1 km at 5% average gradient with a peak at 9%), whilst the finale is characterized by two laps of another circuit of 17,3 Km.

The classic Montaner climb, in Borgo Canalet (1,7 Km at 12% average gradient with peak at 20%), and last year’s new-entry Via delle Longhe hill (0,5 km at 12% average gradient with peak at 17%) with 9 Km to go will likely decide the race.
