Giro del Belvedere confirmed its international prestige: Robert Stannard claimed an historical edition of the “Easter Monday Classic”, the 80th, enhanced by the huge crowd cheering for the race protagonists in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy). Following Swiss Patrick Müller (2016) and Belarussian Aleksandr Riabushenko (2017), an Australian rider celebrated for the first time in the U23 international classic, grabbing the first seasonal win and his first career success in Italy.

After yesterday’s second place at Trofeo Piva, the Mitchelton Bike Exchange 19-year-old rider, came on top of a 6-man sprint among the breakaway riders that had launched the decisive attack on the tough Montaner climb. A high-class, tough and uncertain race goes on the stage tomorrow, Monday April 2nd: A great show is expected at the 80th Giro del Belvedere, gathering a strong international field once again. By way of comparison, as the Ronde Van Vlaanderen is widely known as the “university of cycling”, the Italian classic represents a traditional springboard for the best U23 athletes in the World in view of the professional career.

Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy) gets ready to welcome the 35 teams representing 17 Countries taking the star at the 80th Giro del Belvedere on Monday April 2nd. The best U23 cycling prospects will face a 166,6 Km classic ruote, characterized by two different circuits: the first (12 Km to be repeated 11 times) including the Conche hill, whilst the final circuit (17,3 Km to be repeated twice) features the classic Montaner climb in Borgo Canalet and Via delle Longhe hill, ideal springboard in view of the finish line.
 
Through a written live coverage on the event’s official website (click here), cycling fans will be able to follow the “Easter Monday Classic” from start to finish in real time, while also interacting on Twitter with the hashtag #GirodelBelvedere.
 
2018 Giro del Belvedere also joins an experimental project to follow the radio race update by the free-of-charge downloadable app “Zello”. Any user must create an account, search and add to list the “RCI Augusto Radio Corsa” channel. The app requires an internet connection.

80 editions wrapped in a special evening. The Giro del Belvedere – prestigious U23 International classic to be held Monday, April 2nd in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy) – turned on the spotlight with 10 days to go.

Attended by former winners, authorities and organizers, on Friday March 23rd, the Giro del Belvedere lived a nice “vernissage” in Treviso nearby, where the great expectation for the “Easter Monday Classic” 2018 edition gave way to histories and memories.

The Giro del Belvedere gets ready for the 80th edition’s official vernissage to be held on Friday, March 23rd in Treviso’s nearby. The upcoming U23 International Classic is envisaged in high style: on Monday, April 2nd in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy) the world cycling’s best prospects will tackle one of the most prestigious races of the season.

Italian Cycling Federation President Renato Di Rocco will be the guest of honour alongside 1983 and 1990 Giro del Belvedere winners, Silvio Martinello and Ivan Gotti, witnessing stories and memories of their early careers.

The event celebrates its 80th edition this year with a special book “Ultima curva a sinistra” (Last turn on the left), written by Valentina Covre, to retrace the history of the Italian race with insights and funny anecdotes.

Giro del Belvedere rides at full speed towards its “D-Day”, on Monday April 2nd, in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy), where the best cycling prospects will face one of the most important races of the U23 international calendar, celebrating its 80th edition.

With around three weeks to go, Pro Belvedere’s organizers unveiled the teams’ list, including 19 non-Italian outfits and absolute premiere like Team Wiggins (Great Britain), IAM Excelsior (Switzerland) and Bicicletas Strongman Colombia Coldeportes (Colombia). Zalf Euromobil Désirée Fior and Team Colpack lead the 16-squad Italian contingent.

Teams from 17 different countries will take part at the 2018 Easter Monday Classic: Italy, France, Denmark, Colombia, Russia, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Principality of Monaco, Norway, United States and Netherlands. Memories, historical pics, stories: a new book celebrates the 80th edition of the U23 International Classic that launched many cycling stars over the years

The Giro del Belvedere, to be held on Monday April 2nd in Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy), assesses its stories and memories, facts and figures  through a new book,  “Ultima curva a sinistra – 80 edizioni del Giro del Belvedere”. (Last bend to the right – 80 years of Giro del Belvedere) written by Valentina Covre, a 33-year-old girl living in Cordignano, to reaffirm the atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm in Villa di Cordignano in looking forward the “D-day” of its Easter Monday Classics.

The book – to be unveiled in occasion of 2018 Giro del Belvedere’s official vernissage, scheduled on Friday March 23rd in Treviso’s nearby – retraces the history of the Italian cycling event with all the route’s changes and the backstories unveiled by the organizing committee, the achievement of the international status and the turning point in terms of marketing and communication. Moreover, the second part of the book collects evidence of athletes, sports directors, organizers through a number of engaging stories and funny anecdotes.
