On Easter Monday, April 6th, the U23 cycling Italian classic’s 87th edition achieves a new record of 20 International squads among 35 teams overall. UAE, Decathlon, Visma, Bahrain, Astana and Jayco lead the chase of Red Bull-Bora, winner last year with the U23 world champion Lorenzo Finn

Giro del Belvedere awaits another exciting edition on April 6. Following last year’s feat of the Junior and U23 World Champion Lorenzo Finn (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), the roads of Villa di Cordignano (Treviso, Northern Italy) will welcome 35 teams on the traditional calendar spot of Easter Monday. The 87th edition of the U23 Italian Spring classic enhances the international soul of an ever-growing event, by setting a new record of 20 international teams (while 15 Italians), with 24 Continental squads and 6 Development teams of World Tour formations.

Leading the charge is reigning champion, Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe: the German powerhouse is among the favourites of the new edition, together with other Devo teams like UAE Gen-Z, winner in 2024 with Gal Glivar, Visma | Lease a Bike, who conquered the race in 2023 with Staune-Mittet, as well as Bahrain Victorious, Hagens Berman Jayco, XDS Astana and the new entry Decathlon CMA-CGM.

Another interesting first-timer on the Venetian roads is Switzerland’s Tudor Pro Cycling U23, a Continental Team aiming at chasing the WT Teams together with more familiar faces in Belvedere’s history like Pogi Team Gusto Ljubljana, UC Monaco, and Tirol KTM Cycling Team, coming off a solid third place with Austrian champion Marco Schrettl.

Italian hopes are carried by Continental Teams of great tradition like Biesse Carrera Premac, General Store – Essegibi – F.lli Curia,  UC Trevigiani – Energiapura Marchiol, and Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna.

To tame the 87th edition of the Easter Monday Classic, riders must overcome a course of 168 km and 2,085 meters of elevation gain: the same course which provided a great show in recent years. After the traditional 8 initial laps on the Conche circuit, there will be 5 passages up the Piai della Vigna ascent (500 meters at 9% with a peak of 15%), before entering the final circuit featuring the climbs of Montaner (1.5 km at 12%) and Via delle Longhe (500 meters at 12% with a peak of 17%).
